Hating Humanity

So, havent blogged in a while, sorry about that. Been busy with work, and other stuff thats interesting. To go with this blogs title, I want to impart a stoy from work. So, I am sitting at my desk and its pretty slow, and I get a call, I say the answer phrase and this person starts talking. She proceeds to ask me how to dial information... yes, she forgot the 3 numbers you dial to get information, 411, so i kindly told her that tidbit and promplty did a *headdesk*. I actually felt stupider for having talked to her.

So I finally got my HDTV, had it for about 3 weeks now, pretty sweet. I never realized that games could look so much better, then I got a widescreen 32” HD and was like “WOW!”. To go with the new hotness of my TV I also got an Xbox 360 Elite to replace my old Pro, I needed the 120GB HDD and HDMI is so much more awesome, cause it tells the TV what settings to use for you!

Just found out that Scotty is going to London this year, and now I hate him even more, cause thats one place I would like to visit in my lifetime, and I was actually thinking of planning a trip there with Richard, but he dont have money and I dont have money so I am kind of screwed there.

So, I think thats all for now, I must attempt to blog more often, otherwise our ZERO readers would have nothing to not read.

Oh, richard showed me this…. and it haunts me… fucking asshole

Taxes

If you know me, you know I lust for more power in my computer, at all times I want for my computer to better than it is now….

Well, I did my taxes on Friday, which will allow me to finally put the finishing touches on planned upgrades to my Gateway E1500-D, amongst other things.

I have already ordered my DVD burner (with lightscribe!!) and as soon as I get the bulk of my refund I will order my new graphics card and twin barracudas to finish the job. Along with this I need to upgrade the power supply from a 305 to a 400, which will probably be a pain, but I dont think this wimpy 305 will be able to handle the new GPU, DVD burner and beefy hard drives all at once.

Other plans with my taxes? New TV, bout damn time, and an xbox 360 elite. I need that 120 GB HDD, and new xbox comes with new warranty, plus it has newer parts which allow me to not have to jack up the volume to hear my tv over the damn jet engine currently situated on my TV stand.

Nothing else going on, just felt like ranting like an idiot, have a good one.

FEAR 2 : Project Origin.

Hey guys!
I just want to let you guys know that through the QORE subscription I own on my PS3 I have been given the oppertunity to try out the F.E.A.R. 2 Demo, unfortunately it is for the PS3 which is kind of deceiving but I will be recording my footage and will put it up as soon as I can.

Windows 7 Beta Thoughts.

hey,
firstly i have to say, holy shit Don you've like taken over this blog haha you really loaded the posts i haven't got to reading them so I will in a sec now onto Windows 7.

Well finally the public beta is out and working and although i had the pre-beta on my computers at work, they changed some things since then but i'll talk about it as though its the first time i've ever seen it.

I'm very impressed overall with Windows 7, it seems to perform very well and has a swell of personalization features, and settings that we're not available in Vista. Speaking of Vista though this really doesn't feel much of a new operating system as much as its just an update from Vista, kind of like Win 98 took over Win 95, they looked a like but there were a few key features that separated them.

I feel that Windows 7 is kind of the bridge between Vista and XP which is apparently what most people are looking for, its compatible with almost anything if not naturally you can set it in compatibility mode (which I had to do to install GTA4 PC).

One of the really nice features is the quick preview and the way the task bar is now laid out, the quick preview allows you to hover over the window  you are interested in, and it makes that window the active window then when your done you move the mouse off the task on the task bar and all your windows re-open, or you can click on it to open it. As well having a jump to desktop button in the bottom right corner is nice.

All in all very impressed and I think windows 7 is the version of windows that people are going to start upgrading too and you can be sure my mac will /is bootcamped with this one.

Windows 7 Beta

So, I am trying to make sure I get a key for the beta, cause I am excited about this and want to test. Well, pretty much 2 sites have been identified as being places to go to know when the beta is up and get your key, and both these sites are being pounded with so many hits that they are basically getting DoS.

This sucks, and the damn beta isnt even out yet, if it comes out while im at work I might be screwed.

Windows Live

So Microsoft released a bundle of programming, some of the programs are new versions of old stuff.  Like messenger and movie maker, but some is new, Ive been playing for a little while and its some slick new stuff.  Like right now I am writing this in Live Writer, which I mentioned in my last post.  Live writer is a nice little application that allows you to write to your blog and basically have access to anything on your HD, makes it easy to add content to a blog because its basically drag and drop.

                                     The Master

Like that, I just dragged the master into this with no real problem putting him where I wanted him, that dirty old master…

Its the same (yet to test) I would assume for other media like video and such, as there are options for those things on the edge of my screen, taunting me.

Then theres wave 3 of messenger, which has streamlined the interface and overall looks much the same, but in nice new packaging, still very cool.

I played with the new Movie Maker for about 30 seconds before I realized it doesnt want to split clips for me, which is the first thing I look for in video editing, if im just missing it, then I may find it later, but without that no more testing for me.

Photo gallery is something thats nice to have and tells me that I can easily share photos using it, when I have some photos I want to share I will tell you how that goes (never gonna happen).

Lastly theres some family safety thing that I will probably never take a second look at, unless it decides to rear its ugly head and tell me I cant do something on my own damn computer.

Other than that, I will be up tomorrow attempting to get my grubby hands on a Windows 7 beta key so that I can have much joy in my life until august when I will become sad again from the beta ending.

That is all…

Testing Live Writer

Testing something new from Microsoft, Windows Live Writer, so far its already wow-ed me by importing the proper settings from the blog and allowing me to write here as if im doing it within the confines of our layout.

Better news from Microsoft, Windows 7 beta goes live on Friday, Im running that as soon as I get my greasy little paws on it, more later

Asshats R Him

Ok, so this article will outline how NOT to treat me if you want to continue to be my friend.

1. Dont turn around after I have stopped talking to you and start talking mad shit about how I have no ambition and that I am a whiny little bitch, thats only going to ensure that I never talk to you again

See, with me its about loyalty, I have had some shitty friends in the past, friends who got me robbed (or actually robbed me). Also others who would be friends with me only to go talk shit when I am not around. LOYALTY, look it up ass hat. See also: not treating friends like shit.

Thats pretty much it, I ask one thing from my friends, but from what i have been told, you went and broke the golden rule, good job.

To another point, the only thing really angering me the other night was you, I could imaging you in a condesending tone saying those things to me over live and it was getting me mad. Plus, i dont like it when the person who should be responding for themself sits back and ignores me while a douchemonkey fights his battle for him.

UPDATE
Asshat IP banned me from his blog, even though I was like his only regular visitor vand I have been a good little boy (except for that one night where i was trolling the place)

Back!!

Hey Guys,
I know you haven't seen me in a while but i do have a confession to make... I think i'm addicted to Flight Simulator X -_-, it takes up wayy to much of my time, I mean i played like 10 minutes of GTA 4 then swapped back over to FSX -_-, but GTA 4 for PC, all I can say is WOWWWW, graphics look HOT, and the replay editor is really AMAZING, with the filters you can put on it, and the free camera movement, and the way it auto records clips it a real marvel! anywhoo so I dunno what's new with you guys but me, still testing but from home now been fortunate enough to try out FEAR 2, I thank the guys out at Monolith for giving me the opportunity to try it out. :)
Some cool things commin to the PS3 sometime soon, apparently Home is only a couple of weeks away, and they just announced Uncharted 2, which I am looking forward too.  I need to get my damn disk drive fixed though... I hope they let me into the Killzone 2 beta, cuz i'm curious as to how that game is shaping up. I'm back at home for a little while to come now so that's a little ease off my back, next trip is vacation to London and Paris in May ( I CANT WAIT) but thats all thats new with me Oh! if you guys haven't checked out my Surprise birthday for my mom I recommend you watch it!
Feel free to leave comments! :) try not to cry when she does loll :P

Too Long Between Posts

So, we go in waves here. We post like madmen for a while, then we go into a lull while we all have nerdgasms over awesome games and movies.

Since the last time I posted GTA IV has been released, the new Halo 3 maps came out and are awesome.... lets see, what else matters?

Oh, I got a new car, finally rid of my crappy ford tempo and I now drive a 94 Pontiac Grand Am.

I have been playing Phantasy Star Universe alo, maily because I can but partly because there was a rather fun and lucrative event going on through the end of april to the end of may.

GTA IV is just all kinds of pwnage, the story is great... hell, I enjoy just hanging out in that game.

Thats all I can think of now, I am at work....

P.S.
OH WHERE OH WHERE HAS MY SCOTTY GONE? OH WHERE OH WHERE CAN HE BE?!?!?!?

Bungie, I Love You!

Bungie just killed about every Halo fan ever in exsistence.... They told us what Cottonball is.

SIDEWINDER REMAKE!

Yes, I have been hoping for weks, as the rest of the community, that this would be true. Sidewinder will finally make it to Xbox Live on April 15th as part of the Legen- wait for it, dary! map pack for 800MS Points.

A reason to dust off Halo 3? Yes!

You see, with a gamefly subscription and a bunch of games to catch up on I have been neglecting my poor little H3 disc, but thats gonna change, even more so if the next rumor comes true.

Headline links to article on bungie.net for your drooling pleasure.

OMG!!
I just realized before saving this... bungie is sick and twisted (i knew that, but damn) they are releasing this on tax day! lol

CRYSIS , you knew it.

Of course since now I have a PC strong enough to muster this game together, 1 word to sum up Crysis, its amazing. But the weird thing is that all of its good qualities lye in the Graphics, and just allowing the other aspects to just behave themselves, and not let them ruin the game.

So lets talk a bit about the graphics, well the fact that you need a very recent power house to be able to max out the settings in this game should give you a good Idea of what kind of graphics you are looking at, It will look like sex on your PC if you have a strong enough PC. But the other graphical settings don't really tear a lot away from the graphics, except maybe low, there is a big difference between Very High and high only because very high has all the awesome Direct X 10 features, which sold Vista to me, when I was deciding. This game will run on a pretty crappy computer all except very high, that's the one you need a good PC for, In high I can get about 50-60 fps running at 1680x1050 resolution where as I can get a max of 30 when in Very high.

That being said if you can play it, your with me on this one, this game looks stunning, from the run through the jungle to the explosions of choppers and the dropping of trees, its truly a one of a kind experience.

The sound holds its own, the sound of bullets whizzing by are always good and the overall score fits the game. That's pretty much all I can really say about the sound, its not crap? It holds its own.

The story takes place on a Korean controlled island, you drop off to go and rescue some Americans and basically, you fight your way through Koreans to find out that this excavation site is all a big trap that will lead an ancient race of aliens onto earth. The story is like I said average, it holds its own.

The game play, is another place that should be noted, the game play is very intuitive, all the buttons are easy to access, changing powers isn't a hassle, even playing with the Xbox 360 controller is all mapped out, and it works great, takes some getting used to but it works great.

The multi player is pretty bare bones you have your standard slayer and another variant called Power Struggle that has you running around doing certain objectives. And so, the multi player also falls under the nothing special box, but... it holds its own.

Final thoughts are, Crysis is an amazing game but because of its visuals which is something you don't usually pick up a game for, but because of the fact that the other mechanics hold their own, the game works fine as a purchase, just to see all the massive work put into the visuals, and the awesome explosions and physics. If you have a PC that can run this at least on Medium or High settings, or for gods sake Very high, do yourself a favor and go pick up this game!

Gets an 8.5/10 from me!

Take it easy guys!

GOT IT!

HEY guys,

Great news, quick little update, I got my Dell XPS 720 H2C today, and it is AMAZING, this machine is BEAST, i'm really pleased with the performance and man I got a T-shirt with it. Yah it was well worth the money :). Now if you'll excuse me i'm gonna go back to playing Crysis. :)
